Jacy Edelman

Jacy Edelman

A star in field hockey and lacrosse at Foxcroft and winner of the Teresa E. Shook Award in 1995, Jacy went on to become one of the greatest athletes in the history of Wellesley College.

She was the first player in the school’s history to be named New England Women and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Rookie of the Year in two sports — field hockey and lacrosse — a feat she accomplished during the 1995-96 school year. The honor earned her an appearance in Sports Illustrated’s "Faces in the Crowd."

Jacy also achieved small college all-America status in both sports, a very rare achievement. She was named a third-team All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association in 1998 and was a first team selection in lacrosse by the International Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association in 1997.  She made the NEWMAC all-conference team in field hockey four times and in lacrosse three times.
